melodica hamburg Saturday evening

The wonderful Acoustic Festival is definetly one of the best occasions to listen to live music here in Hamburg. Here are some sketches of last Saturday evening at the Kulturhaus 73. The following potraits are of the guys of Dad Rocks!, the very nice french Ladies Telma and Louise and Peter Birch whose deep and sonorous voice really stunned me.
Sadly the sketches of the danish Jacob&Kristine-Band didn't turn out that good unlike their performance, which I enjoyed very much.

the beach on harris was definetly one of the most astonishing places I've ever been to. Maybe because you never expect the white dunes and the crystal clear and cyan-blue water in such a rough and barren landscape.

clown & ziege

something from a little projekt I'm working on. It's going to be some kind of foldout (Falltblatt) telling a little story about this clown and his new friend.

this title could almost be a nickname... maybe with some numbers in the end.

Weeell, since I was ask to do this for a friend of my flatmate, who wants to give this to her husband to be as a wedding gift, I thought I better starting to practise wings since she requested a nude portait of herself with angelwings.

This is not the actual drawing, yet. Just a sketch for it.
What the hell, it's fun drawing butts.

My new sketchbook was in great need of a title, so that I can distinguish between it's back and front.
The phrase is the title of a film which my professor of design history claimed to be her favorite film and she once showed us a part of it. It's from the 80's and tells the story of Michelangelo painting the Sistine Chapel and quarreling with the pope while doing that.

With some kind of afterthought and the great amount of stress the last weeks - between being amused and a bit desperate - I came to the conlusion that it sums up being an illustrator in quite a good way... at least, in a dramatic one.

Pierre et Louis

Pierre suddenly appeared in my Book for my time planning and notes. I named him Pierre because french always gives a lot of esprit and because I liked him Louis was added as a some sort of companion.

There are also the ideas of Bruno, Marléne and Fritz. Maybe they show up later...

little mermaid

I don't know why but it gets never boring drawing mermaids... and stupid looking fish.

dancing into May 2012

This here is older than a month now, but still worth showing. There is no better way in Hamburg to start May than doing it while dancing on one of the harbour launches. The Frau Hedi and her sisters Claudia and Christa were driving this year, each with an different DJ on board.
We waited about one and a half hour standing in the cold evening breeze, but it was worth it. Driving through the harbour at night and doing that with swinging balkanbeats was one of the best experiences I had in my new hometown.

The comic was drawn on day later out of my memory.

nature wins

On Skye there where many moments when the artist in me felt challenged by the amazing views and sights that nature offers. But nature seems to have a lot of advance being a world where we small people live in.
And since I felt defeated I decided to look and wonder instead.

the joy of sheep

when I was on holiday on the Ilse of Skye in Scotland last week I just couldn't stop enjoying the fluffiness of the sheep everywhere.

I always wanted to portrait the people who portrait people at the harbour esplanade in my hometown at the Lake of Constance.
